I’ve been thinking of changing my Twitter handle for a while now, as @JHill_AssocCIPD doesn’t exactly trip off the tongue!
A brainstorming session with my Working Out Loud group became increasingly silly, with lots of suggestions too daft to mention here. But this humour inspired my new Twitter handle: @DevByPowerPoint

It’s funny ’cause it’s true
I need to thank @jonrock for the bad pun. His suggestion of @MegaDev made me laugh out loud and if it wasn’t already taken I might have gone in that direction.
Although I have a background in teaching and training, ‘developer’ is probably the most accurate description of my work. The play on words combines my history as a delivery trainer and my current role, while poking fun at the negative perception of elearning as ‘death by PowerPoint’. To this day, I do a surprising amount of development work using PowerPoint. So it just felt right to change my Twitter handle to @DevByPowerPoint.
If you’re already following me on Twitter you shouldn’t notice much difference. It will still be the same mix of portfolio pieces, L&D chat, pop culture references and other useful resources.
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
